MEDITECH Programmer/ Application Specialist

IPeople is seeking self-motivated individuals with a solid knowledge of the MEDITECH system and an eagerness to learn. Applicants should possess advanced NPR Report Writing Skills or Magic/CS/MAT programming experience. This position provides opportunities for creating integration solutions from beginning to end, while also contributing to new innovative solutions for future interfaces. Responsibilities of this position include:

Create, implement and test custom HL7 interfaces between MEDITECH and other vendors or hospital systems
Work with customers, vendors and project management in order to create, install, edit and troubleshoot custom HL7 interfaces
Take ownership of assigned interfaces from initial coding to customer acceptance
Prioritize customer issues properly and communicate updates as appropriate
Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Assist with on call rotation
Other duties may be assigned as necessary

Knowledge and Experience

3+ years of NPR Report writing or MEDITECH CS/MAGIC/MAT programming
3+ years of healthcare experience
Knowledge of HL7 protocols
Understanding of MEDITECH's applications and data structures is a plus
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Experience with interface or application development

**Relocation to the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas is required**
