Job Summary: Responsible for assuring the overall implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Hospital Information System clinical modules (Laboratory, Microbiology, Pathology, Blood Bank, Pharmacy, Radiology, Nursing, Order Entry, Patient Care Inquiry, etc.). Serves as a contact for clinical systems software (PTCT, Galactica, EDIS, PYXIS, etc.). Assists in training for new updates and software releases. Responsible for report writing and querying from clinical systems as needed. Assists Information Systems staff with technical issues and upgrades as needed (printers, computers, server, etc.).

C. Interrelationships/Contacts include but are not limited to: Financial Analyst, Network Administrator, Chief Information Officer, Medical Records Director, Laboratory Director, Pharmacy Director, Radiology Director, Emergency Room Director, Home Health Director, Informatics Coordinator, clinical staff, hospital employees, computer and software vendors.
Qualifications:
A. Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or equivalent degree program.
B. Training and Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in health care setting with concentration in clinical systems analysis. Formal clinical training helpful but not required.
C. Special Qualifications and Job Knowledge: Firm knowledge of information systems. Experience with SQL, MS Access, Crystal Reports, Visual Basic. Effective written and verbal communication and project management skills. Ability to think creatively and work well in groups. Ability to handle pressure situations and troubleshoot. Ability to multitask and handle varying issues simultaneously.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Hours of Work: Minimum 40 hour work week. Rotating weekly call.
